You Have __ Unheard Voicemails...

Okay... so I have a slight hatred for voicemails. I'm learning to work with it, but it's one of my least favorite forms of communication. It takes extra steps to check, I have to be in a quiet place, and it involves having a pen and paper handy to write down numbers, details, and tasks to be completed. E-mails and texts work a whole lot better or just calling back. When a good friend calls I call them back soon after anyways.
This article gives me hope that voicemail systems are not going to be around forever - great news! I have had a boss who hated voicemails more than I do - it made for an easy no voicemail policy while working together and I've worked with bosses who prefer voicemails. I'm learning to work within both frameworks, but if it's just me - I prefer no voicemail and just going straight for an e-mail. We all have blackberries or the equivalent these days... we might as well use them.

The one exception are calls from long lost friends, anything from my nieces and nephews with their little voice that make me swoon every time, and any message from an attractive guy who would like to date me. I guess that's a lot of exceptions... but those are the important ones...
