Since I got to Virginia I've had a chance to reconnect with some of my mom's side of the family. My Aunt Sharon, who lives in Northwest Virginia, kindly invited me out to their house to celebrate her son Ben's birthday on Valentine's Day. I was able to stop by for a couple hours in between meetings and catch up.
It's great to be around family after so long and to find that we do have things in common. It had been since Kristen's graduation from college almost 8 years ago that we had been together. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the family and getting to know them even more as I am here in Virginia and living only a couple hours away.
