Carolyn's visit to Boston was pure magic! It may have become the only way to describe the weekend - lots of laughs for sure and a lot of crazy pictures. I may have looked a little mentally retarded in some of them and Carolyn's enthusiasm might come out in seeming possession. All you need to know is that we are both very attractive and I'll post some of the good pictures here with a brief recap of the places we saw.
We drove around in some of the wealthy suburbs to show Carolyn a bit more of New England and the quaint little towns that are around here. We may have also walked around a park and took random pictures with the Fall leaves... maybe...

We then stopped for lunch and had a picnic on the Lexington Battle Green while we talked and Carolyn's sandwich was attacked repeatedly by a pesky bee..

We went to the Minuteman National Historical Park to give a little bit of a history overview of the area to Carolyn and in turn played and pondered with the exercises the park rangers had set up for children to understand why the first battles were fought..

We went up to Old North Bridge in Concord and took lots of pictures... some very humorous ones and made friends with some of the other tourists...
We grabbed hot chocolate at Seattle's Best Coffee - my favorite and the tie to Seattle helps as well. It was the place where we met (or just outside) - the city, not the coffee shop.
We walked around the temple grounds taking pictures and talking about just how cool the Boston temple is in particular. We were still drinking our hot chocolate which we noticed just might look a little sketchy when we offered to take a picture of a couple together and they raised an eyebrow or two at the apostate tourists. In all actuality - we were enjoying a Mormon friendly drink on an overcast day and talking about the blessings of the temple - not sketchy at all. Knowing that, the admonition from my mother came immediately in my mind to "avoid the appearance of evil."
Then we decided to head into town to see Old North Church (which was closed for a private wedding, unfortunately) and the rest of the city... We explored the North End, Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, the Public Garden, sat on a bench on the Charles River and chatted, walked down the river to Fenway Park, grabbed a bite to eat at an Irish Pub, and then dessert at Finale to top the night off.
We don't have as many pictures from inside Boston because it got dark, but it was great to explore the city and catch up on life. Definitely some things to repeat the next time Carolyn is in town. I love Carolyn and her friendship and it is great to explore the city with her and try new things. The combination of showing her the city that I know and love as well as finding new things together is pretty close to perfect. She brings out the best in me and doesn't let me take myself too seriously which is great. Love you, Carolyn! I'm looking forward to more East Coast magic sometime soon!! :)

Wow! Rolling around in the leaves! Hot momma! No really; you look gorgeous in these photos! I'm so glad you got to see Carolyn! (She also looks fabulous, I should point out.)
I'm glad your getting to be a tourist in your own area--sometimes it's nice to be a bit cheesy and, well, as you showed in your picture, get up close and personal with guest books.
Maybe I'll find a time (don't know when) to come see you! (wherever you are.) Or we could tour-it-up in DC!
